Abstract

Objective: To investigate the linkage between asthma and 5q31-33 in a Chinese population.

Methods: The linkage between microsatellite markers in 5q and asthma and allergy was tested by lod score analysis.

Results: The linkage between asthma and 5q31-33 was not confirmed.

Conclusion: The genes at 5q31-33 are not likely to contribute to inheritance of asthma in this Chinese population.
