Septic pulmonary emboli after prolonged use of central venous catheter for parenteral nutrition. Case report

Abstract

A 48-year-old man underwent total parenteral nutrition via a central venous catheter because of small bowel obstruction after the reconstruction of the abdominal aorta. Three weeks after, he developed septic emboli in the right lung, which was one of rare complications of central venous catheter.
