An adequate response to a cry for help? Parasuicide patients' perceptions of their nursing care

Prof Nurse. 1992 Jan;7(4):213-5.

Abstract

People admitted to hospital after a failed suicide attempt present a real challenge to nurses. A survey of parasuicide patients revealed that most felt isolated and ignored during their hospital stay. By sparing time to talk, nurses can help motivate patients to make a new start.
