Objective and importance: To describe a rare case of optic neuritis onset after Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery.
Clinical presentation: Nine years after transsphenoidal subtotal resection of a pituitary adenoma, this 43-year-old woman had elevated serum prolactin levels and headaches.
Intervention: Gamma Knife stereotactic radiosurgery to residual pituitary tumor.
Conclusion: To our knowledge, this is the first report of radiation-induced optic neuritis after radiosurgery in a patient with multiple sclerosis.
