Overview of musculoskeletal sonography

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to review the role of sonography in evaluation of the musculoskeletal system. Specifically, the normal appearances of tendons, tendon sheaths, joints, bursae, muscles, peripheral nerves, ligaments, hyaline cartilage, and bone will be shown. Common abnormalities involving these structures will also be depicted.
