Functional electrical stimulators (FES) has been shown to be effective in improving many aspects of walking in patients with foot drop caused by various neurological conditions, but the effectiveness of FES compared to other treatment modalities is not clear. This Rapid Response report aims to review the clinical and cost-effectiveness of FES compared to other therapies such ankle foot orthosis (AFO), rehabilitation, and surgery for the treatment of patients with foot drop.
