Abstract

In this review, after a short description of the T-cell receptor alpha and beta gene organization, the results obtained by rearrangement analysis in human lymphoid proliferations are analysed. Southern analysis appear to be a useful tool for the study of clonality and at a less degree, of lineage involvement in such neoplasias. The significance of rearrangement of T-cell receptor genes in B-lineage proliferations is also discussed.
