Sinonasal quality of life in primary ciliary dyskinesia

Int Forum Allergy Rhinol. 2023 Nov;13(11):2101-2104. doi: 10.1002/alr.23180. Epub 2023 May 25.

Abstract

Our findings suggest that primary ciliary dyskinesia (PCD)-related chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) has a more significant impact on quality of life than CRS without nasal polyps and cystic fibrosis (CF). PCD and CF have similar mucociliary clearance defects, yet sinonasal symptom severity varies between the two.

Keywords: chronic rhinosinusitis; cystic fibrosis; mucociliary clearance; primary ciliary dyskinesia; quality of life; rhinosinusitis disability index.
