Electrophysiologic abnormalities in two cases of familial amyloidosis

Am J Ophthalmol. 1995 May;119(5):662-3. doi: 10.1016/s0002-9394(14)70235-1.

Abstract

Purpose/methods: We recorded electrophysiologic data of two patients with familial amyloidosis.

Results/conclusions: Only minor abnormalities could be demonstrated clinically and by means of fluorescein angiography in one patient. Considerable alterations of electrophysiologic responses could be found in both patients. These results suggest that an early retinal or optic nerve involvement in amyloidosis could be detected by using these noninvasive techniques.
