Accelerated coronary artery disease in a young woman with pseudoxanthoma elasticum and elevated lipoprotein(a)

Eur Heart J. 1994 Oct;15(10):1428-30. doi: 10.1093/oxfordjournals.eurheartj.a060407.

Abstract

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum frequently has cardiovascular involvement. We describe a 29-year-old woman with pseudoxanthoma elasticum and accelerated coronary artery disease who was found to have a highly elevated lipoprotein(a). This unique combination is, most likely, responsible for the clinical presentation of our case.
