Abstract

Endoscopic drainage is a modern and effective therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pancreatitis. The authors demonstrate their experience with this therapy in 20 patients. It resulted in pain disappearance in 60% of the patients and in body weight increase within 1 year after therapy in 55% of the patients. Steatorrhea was not significantly influenced by the therapy. The main complication of endoscopic therapy were frequent restenoses (30%). (Tab. 4, Fig. 2, Ref. 12.)
